Desert Island (Free Speaking)
This is a 30/50-minute free speaking lesson for any level from Pre-intermediate to High Intermediate. (If desired, it can incorporate the teaching of vocabulary.)

This 50-55 minute lesson introduces the Past Simple positive statement form of regular verbs. The verbs are ones for everyday chores: cleaned, washed etc. It includes practice with the three pronunciations of the "ed" ending.

Oral Practice: Past Simple Statements and/or Questions (Elementary/Pre-Intermediate)
This 50-55 minute lesson provides oral practice with the Past Simple in the context of students' personal biographies. The lesson can be adapted to practice only positive statements or Yes-No questions or both.

Presentation & Practice: Past Passive (Pre- or Low Intermediate)
This 50-55 minute lesson introduces and provides oral practice with the Past Simple Passive. The plan also includes a suggestion for a written homework and worksheets for two recycling/oral practice activities for use in subsequent lessons.
My aim in including this plan is to show that grammar can be taught without lots of explanation by the teacher and can/should include plenty of oral (rather than written) practice using the target grammar in reasonably natural sentences.
